maps are fun. especially when they are part of my trip. this map was quick – maybe 2-3hours worth of drawing – tracing a map and then working from there. i am shocked at the speed at which i can work sometimes. when i know what i want things to look like. when i know the end result. i need to work more on that. on having something in mind already, rather than copying to understand form. ill keep going though. it’s all part of the process…

it’s a journey, and journeys can take a while – don’t forget that. journeys to new territory are best started with a look into the past. so many hours spent on this illustration + it could have been a life changing illustration, but it wasn’t. looking back now, that’s a good thing. it was still fun, and i still managed to use the illustration in useful ways. it may still prove more useful, but for now it is celebrated here as a look into the past + a promise of the prospects of the future.
